
Perfect for the Fall, this recipe is easy and delicious! It can be made on the stove or in the crockpot. The recipe below reflects over the stove chili which can be enjoyed within 2 hours.
Prep Time: 30 Minutes
Cook Time: 1.5 Hours
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds ground beef*
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
- 1 small can of tomato sauce
- 2 cans stewed tomatoes tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup of Apple Juice*
- 2 medium apples, cored and chopped
- 2 tablespoons of raw sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes
- 2-3 tablespoons of hot sauce or BBQ sauce (I like to use Franks Redhot Sweet BBQ)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
In a large soup kettle saute onions in a tablespoon of oil until tender, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and garlic and cook until browned; drain.
Stir in remainder of ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 1-1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
