Mother's Day Book ~ Frugal Crafting with Elmer's & UPS Store

Today my kids and I made a Mother's Day photo book for my Mom, who is AKA Grammy. We love making photo books for her because it's frugal, a craft we can do together and she gets to keep the memories in a cute book!

We went to the UPS Store and had a memory book printed. This was fairly simple to do, I brought them an SD card with the photos I wanted to use already marked. I had them printed on glossy card stock, bound and added a cover page for the kids to decorate:

We took different embellishments such as die cut hearts, jewels, stamps, etc. to decorate our book. We also used Elmer's Painters Markers to write on the book as well.

The kids adhered the embellishments on with Elmer's school glue and Elmer's glue spots.

The Glue Spots worked great for the die cuts that have "brads" and the Elmer's School Glue worked great for the jewels and die cuts without a lot of embellishments.

They had a lot of fun getting to be creative as they wanted! Of course, I helped a bit too.

I wanted to show an easy way to do an "inking" technique with Elmer's Painters Markers . Take the pen and blot it into a paper towel, then quickly take the item you want to "ink" and rub it on the sides. In this case I did this technique with the heart:

You can also do this technique with an ink pad, take the die cut and rub it on the ink pad or use a sponge, dip it in the ink and rub it on the die cut.

Here is our Book!
