#TheIceCreamSocial Experience

Summer is here and we are always looking for ways to cool off because it's already over 100 degrees. We're also always looking for free things to do so this weekend, the kids and I attended #TheIceCreamSocial at Walmart. I don't know about you but me and my kids love ice cream. I do try to instill healthy eating habits in the kids so it's definitely a treat for us when we do indulge on ice cream so when I tell my kids that we are going to get some, it goes a little something like this:

We went into Walmart and waited in line, patiently (and happily)

Not only are we excited about ice cream, mom loves that this event is free. I have heard people jokingly say they could eat a whole meal at a store sampling, this could be me. Plus, it gets me and the kiddies out of the house on a Summer day.

We got to try Dryer's churned Vanilla ice cream with Nesquik syrup and Reddi-Wip topping, yum! Our sampling host was great too, very friendly and was working as fast as she could to get the ice cream out to customers.

Delicious! I like that the Slow Churned Dreyer's/Edy's ice cream has a lower fat content.

Of course, what is the first thing you want to do after eating something? Buy it! So we went shopping for ice cream.

Adrienne really wanted Italian Ice

But , being the comparative mom I am I said let's look around first before deciding.

Yum, I love all of Dreyer's specialty flavors. When the holiday flavors for Christmas time and the Girl Scout Cookie flavors come out, my freezer is stocked full of them! Really, I am not picky when it comes to ice cream, any flavor will do!

I am going with the Dibs, they are great and I can easily control the portions. Plus only $3.74, it's only about 2 and a half cents per bite! YUM!

Adrienne is still set on Italian Ice, Tyler is fine with whatever so I tell the kids to grab an Italian Ice flavor they can agree on and we are set with our ice cream choices.

I do think this summer though we will get some Vanilla ice cream and have an ice cream party with a sundae bar!

If you missed the Ice Cream Social at Walmart, they will be going to another tour in July on 7/2! Find a Walmart participating near you : http://instoresnow.walmart.com/in-stores-now-in-store-event-finder.aspx

  1. I have not seen Nestle Dibs; those would be great for a quick treat. Will have to check our store.:)
