New Years Eve Dinner Idea: Tacos with Old El Paso (plus a giveaway)

A few weeks ago we did a taco night as a family. I forgot how much I loved doing this with my whole family when I was younger. We'd set up a taco bar with hard shells, soft shells, diffferent cheeses and a variety of toppings. We'd get to make our tacos how we wanted! I hadn't done this tradition with my kids yet so I was excited when I was asked to enjoy a taco night with Old El Paso.

The taco seasoning was really easy to use and it tasted great. I actually made turkey tacos with ground turkey meat. Since turkey gets dry when you cook it, the way the seasoning cooks with the water and the meat really made it juicy. When I was shopping for my Old El Paso seasoning, I saw that they also did taco shells, hard and soft. This is great, less cooking for mom!

One thing we never did growing up was have a game during taco night. Old El Paso has something fun to keep your family laughing at the dinner table with the El Tacodor game, the world´s only family taco night game. With El Tacodor, your family can share a special night at home by challenging one another to quick fire trivia, wordplay and pantomime. Visit www.ElTacodor.com today to download instructions, a score card, and a challenge sheet for even more fun on family taco night!

Visit Old El Paso for news and great tips, recipes and more. Take a minute to share family fiesta photos and videos from family taco nights on the El Tacodor Family Spotlight!

  2. We do taco night all the time. Even the twins eat tacos. I started cooking some of the rice in with the ground beef. That way it sticks together and the babies can eat the rice. If I do it separately then the Twins just dump rice all over my floor. We have had Taco Night with our neighbors too. No real traditions, just good food laid out on the counter and do-it-yourself tacos.

I usually use Old El Paso seasoning mix for my Taco Nights. I sometimes use their Refried Beans as well.

My grandparents have traditional "taco nite" get togethers every couple of months. The whole family and many of our friends know that when they get a text or email with "TACO NITE" they need to be there! good times, good food, everyone is invited!
