#Print4Blogher Session 7 ~ Shipping to/from Blogher

This past week in our #Print4Blogher session with the UPS Store, we went over our final topic: Shipping! We went over how the UPS Store can help with shipping things to and from Blogher11. This year I am driving but last year, I had to fly across the country and my luggage had to be very limited. I ended up shipping some of my sponsor items to the hotel because I couldn't carry it all. It was very convenient!


This year, Blogher attendees can ship their items directly to the Marriott where the UPS Store will receive all packages.

Here are the details of shipping to the Marriott for #Blogher11:

SHIPPING

Bloggers can ship their already-printed materials, luggage, etc. (With luggage, we don’t recommend shipping internationally.) When shipping to BlogHer, allow for 4-5 days for the package to arrive in San Diego. Timing will vary depending on where you’re located, so we recommend contacting your local The UPS Store to determine the expected delivery date. Or you can use UPS’s online cost and timing calculator to determine the expected delivery date: http://www.theupsstore.com/qcc/pages/qcc.aspx.

SHIPPING TO MARRIOTT

If bloggers are staying at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina, all package deliveries to the hotel are managed through The UPS Store. Marriott guests should address all materials as follows:

(Note: Confirmation and/or room number information is not necessary, but may be included if available.)

If bloggers are NOT staying at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina, they can still send their packages to be received and stored up to 4 days until they arrive. When shipping to the San Diego Marriott, be sure to indicate the event name (BlogHer 2011) as well as your phone number so The UPS Store staff can call you when your package arrives.

When you arrive at the hotel, either dial ext. 8940 or visit The UPS Store Business Center located on the lobby level to retrieve packages and/or schedule package delivery.

So what do you do with all that swag to ship back home? This is from the Blogher11 newsletter:
On Sunday, with the help of the Marriott UPS store, we will once again have an outbound shipping station. Here is the deal: you decide what doesn't fit in your suitcase after two fabulous days at BlogHer, come down to the outbound shipping station (which will be shared with the Future Friendly Swag Exchange), drop off what you have decided you don't need after all, pack and ship! Remember, you will need to pay your own shipping so don't ship what you don't need!

Outbound Shipping:
  • Sunday - Marriott Marquis and Marina - 1st floor, San Diego Ballroom A: 6 a.m. - 12 noon.
